just wondering

When the demonstrations started in Egypt 18 days ago, all of the newscasters said it was happening in "Liberation" Square.  Some time last week it changed back to its real name Tahrir Square.  Now you hear both in tandem; i.e., from Tahrir Square also known as Liberation Square.  What strikes me most is the orchestrated timing of the change...that every news agency calls it the same thing at the same time.
